Three of them were 6s. And no ordinary sixes. Dhoni's first six was a one-handed swipe at a Mohit Sharma knuckleball. You could practically feel the Narendra Modi Stadium vibrating. It was very loud. But Dhoni was only getting started. With 53 to win, even sixes off the final eight balls would have been insufficient, but who cares? The crowd simply wanted Dhoni to bat all of them. And he nearly did, confronting

Dhoni put the first two balls of Rashid Khan's last over in the stands. The initial shot was from a helicopter.

He danced down the track, negating whatever turn was on offer, and utilized his muscular wrists to twist the ball. Rashid pulled the next one down. Dhoni was out of shape, but his hands are so good that he doesn't need to be in a decent stance. There are not even two hands on the grip.
